Maps & Directions to find Matthews Cemetery,
Civil War Soldiers interred in Matthews Cemetery.
The
photographer started on the northeast corner nearest the cemetery marker sign in
front and went south up the first row and
then west to the next row and then north on that row repeating that pattern to finish the cemetery.
There were lots of open spaces where unmarked graves could appear. The sequence
of the photo number/file name and the record file name can be used to measure
the progression of the photographer. This is a reflection of whose grave is next to
whom unless there were skips or changes to the next row. There were at least 40
short rows in this cemetery spaced up the hill side.
