SCOTT, Andrew, 25 Jan 1796 -31 Jan 1870, 74-06-06. (Son of Samuel & Sarah Scott; reported that possibly seven or eight sons of Andrew L. & Mary Doak Matthews Scott served with Confederate army.)

SCOTT, Mary D., 24 Jan 1797 - 6 Dec 1869. 72-10-12. 'Daughter of J. & M. Matthews & wife of Andrew Scott." (Married Andrew Latham Scott on 31 Oct 1816.)
This stone type is actually about the most fragile there is. It is both breaking up and weathering away. Without the patination it would be white, probably composed of quartz or maybe feldspar. Folks we need to treasure these photos. These stones will not last many more years in spite of someones' attempt to repair these stones.
