HOLLAND, Major James, b. A.D. 1754 - d. 19 May 1825, in his 70th year.
(Revolutionary War; N.C. State Legislature and U. S. Congressman;
married Dec 1780 to Sarah Gilbert who is buried in Tuscaloosa, Ala.

He enjoyed a liberal education and was esteemed for many virtues."

PRINCE, Bayliss Earl., d. Aug 1825. 'He served his country with credit to
himself as an officer in the Creek War and at the Battle of New Orleans." (War
of 1812; married Sarah Myra, dau. of Maj. James & Sarah Holland and his cousin.
Her father would not allow them to marry, due to their kinship but later
relented. They did not have any children. Her grave not found by F.L.H.)

WATSON, Mrs. George, "died Monday of pneumonia, near Groveland. Husband and one
child survive. (Daily Herald, 15 Feb 1905.)
Listed 13 Mar 1987 with the help
of Mr. James Wiley Davidson. Mr. Davidson took me to the site in his Jeep. As we
started the return trip, however, the Jeep refused to cooperate and we had to
walk up and down hills for a mile or
so to reach his house where my vehicle was parked.
