Stone only with a death date of Apr 23 1854 remaining 3815

Note:  In the year 1833 many people died from the cholera epidemic of that time. Thirteen listings above are shown as having died in that year  and were interred in this cemetery.

This is a picturesque park-like setting. The restoration crew did a fabulous job of preserving this old graveyard. Wish more old cemeteries were made into parks like this. [WA 15 Jul 2010]

This Cemetery was first copied by Marise P. Lightfoot and Evelyn Shackelford, 19 Apr 1964 for their publication "Maury County Neighbors". The listing was updated in 1968 when cemetery was restored by a grant from HUD & others (see tributes above) During 1986 it was included in the book Giles County Cemeteries by the Historical Society, page 87-91. Now we have again reviewed most of it in 2007 and included some minor fixes and corrections and hopefully have not added any new errors. We also depended on past researchers for most of the research to be sure this cemetery was fully validated leaving no major historical ommissions.  This Cemetery is based on the photography & research of Wayne Austin 7 Jul 2007. Added here 16 Jul 2010 by the same.
