CHEAIRS, NATHANIEL, a native of Maryland, grew up in North Carolina and came to Tennessee in 1810, settling in
Spring Hill. He married Miss Sarah Rush and they had a family of eleven children, several of whom moved further
west, and several of whom reared prominent Tennessee families. The Cheairs land just south of Spring Hill was very
productive and the slave population numerous. Mr. Cheairs lived for 82 years, passing away on 2 Oct 1846.
