KERR, Mrs Alice Kerr Stacy (30 Aug) 1869- (29 Dec) 1936. She was the daughter of Josephus Jerome &
Elizabeth Virginia Ausban Kerr. She married William Arthur Stacy about 1896. Two
children were born. Mr. Stacy became unfaithful and left for Arkansas where he
married again and had other children. Alice then raised her
children with the help of her parents and sister May Jane.

Mrs. Alice Stacey, aged 67, died Tuesday evening at her home at Culleoka after a
long illness. She was a daughter of the late J. (Josephus Jerome) J. and
Elizabeth (Ausban) Kerr and had resided in the Culleoka community all of her
life. For many years she had been a member of the Nazarene church and was
beloved among many friends.
Surviving are one son, Claud Stacey, one daughter, Mrs. Carter Moore, one
brother, J. (James) E. Kerr and two sisters, Miss May Kerr and Mrs. (Otie E)
Charlie Austin, of Culleoka.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at the residence by the Rev. J. A.
McCammon of Columbia and interment was in the Wilkes cemetery.
Pall bearers were Arthur Porter, Clyde, Homer and Paul Austin, Clarence and
Lewis Tyler. Williams & Prentice, morticians in charge.
