Infantry. He is listed (Pvt Richard Sparkes Wilkes Co. E 3rd Tenn Inf Sept
1863) as dying in Sept 1863 in Aberdeen, Mississippi. He is
listed as one of the Confederate dead laid to rest in Old Aberdeen Cemetery. Link to the cemetery
