REESE'S CHAPEL CHURCH AND CEMETERY-MAURY COUNTY TENNESSEE

CLANTON, Nathaniel T., 4 May 1822 - 2 Feb 1825. Age 2 years 3 months
and 28 days, Son of John W. & Ann E. Thompson Clanton."  Located south of the William Thompson
memorial and is the same style stone. Ann E. Thompson Clanton is interred in the Bascom Cemetery in Jackson Tennessee, all her children preceded her in death.

The 2 little Clanton boys known to be interred here were related and were some of Nick & Pat Boone's relatives. The Clanton boys were the sons of Anne Thompson Clanton she and her husband John W. Clanton were 3rd great grandparents of Nick & Pat Boone the famous singers of the 1960s and even thru today this family still gains national attention. Nick sang under the name Nick Todd. Added here from thoughts of Trish Brewer Boone wife of Nick, an avid family historian.

John N.'s sibling was Major George Wesley Clanton interred in old Bethlehem Cemetery of Graves Co Ky:

Nathaniel Thompson Clanton's Mother was Anne Thompson Clanton. Anne's parents were Nathaniel Thompson and Jane (maiden unknown) Thompson.
Anne E and husband John W Clanton had numerous children including their last child George Wesley Clanton (link above)
Sometime after the death of baby sons Nathaniel Thompson Clanton and John N Clanton who are buried in Reese Chapel, the Clantons' moved to Graves Co KY.
Anne's husband John W Clanton died in Graves Co KY in 1853 at 52 yrs old she was about 3 yrs older than he, according to the 1850 census. I have on her, and it is a reliable source, that she died in 1875 in Madison Co TN and that she is buried (Ann E. Thompson Clanton) in the Bascom Cemetery in Jackson Tennessee, all her children preceded her in death. [Trish Boone 8 Mar 2013]
