. HOWELL, Major 1835 - 1906, Major Howell was caught up in the guerilla style warfare that occurred around Mt. Pleasant Tennessee during the time of the Civil War. He was accused of being one of the killers of William F. Coffee. After Samuel Morrow the other accused killer was murdered Major and his family fled to western Kentucky where he lived out his life and died there. This stone can be found somewhere in Western Kentucky. Written by Wayne Austin a third great nephew of William F Coffee.
