James Samuel Hanback and Ifa May Clayton)

Mr. James Luther Hanback, 91, a resident of Merritt Island, Florida and a former resident of 
Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee died Saturday, October 30, 2004 at Cape Canaveral Hospital in 
Cocoa Beach, Florida, Funeral services for Mr. Hanback will be conducted Wednesday November 
3, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant with Rick Points officiating. Burial will be 
in the John Lay Cemetery in Ethridge, TN. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. 
at the funeral home. The Lawrence County native was the son of late James Samuel and Ifa May Clayton 
Hanback. He was the husband of the late Bell Brawner Hanback. Mr. Hanback was a retired saw operator 
for Kawneer Aluminum Plant. He was an avid gardener and was of Baptist Faith. He is survived by two daughters, 
Ann Hutchings (Robert) Sorget of Merritt Island, FL and Mae (Richard) Proud of Buchanan, MI; a son, Alton 
Ray (Debbie) Hanback of Cocoa, FL; seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; 
several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Bethel Nolly and one brother, Clarence Hanback. 
Pallbearers will be Tony Brawner, David Brawner, Bobby Cummins, Austin Adams, Sonny Cummins and
