CORDER, Evalyn Murphy Age 90. Died Friday, June 18, 2004, at  Lakeshore
 Wedgewood in Nashville Tennessee after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Corder was a beloved mother, and grand�mother and a charter member of the Concord Road Church of Christ. She graduated from CuIleoka High School in Maury County Tennessee. In her early career Mrs. Corder worked in sales for Penny�s and Cain Sloan�s Department Stores. In later years, she was a homemaker and was a one time designated a Presidential AVON Lady for her exceptional sales and for 25 years of service. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Wilson Corder. She is survived by two daughters, Susan Corder (David) McQueen and Nancy �Corder (Michael) Lewis;.a son, James (Cathy) �Corder, Jr.; a sister, Mildred Jobe; and seven grandchildren. Funeral Services will be 1 p.m. Monday in the �Woodlawn Chapel of Roses with, her son, James W. Corder, Jr, officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park with Brother Phil Sanders and Brother Harold Baker officiating. Grandsons will serve as Pallbearers.  Visitation with the family will be Monday 11:00 to 12:30 at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 660 Thompson Lane, (615) 383-4754.

Information from a Tennessean obituary modified for this site by a distant cousin Jack Dugger. 6/30/2004. Jack informs us Evalyn was the daughter of Phinney Murphy and grew up in Maury County on Phinney Murphy Road. She was a distant relative of Jack's. Her father was the son of Mr. "Pink" Murphy who built the old historic Murphy House at Southport about 1890.
