ARLINGTON CEMETERY-MAURY COUNTY, MT PLEASANT TENNESSEE 

Attkisson, Hazel Monroe, 8 Dec 1933 - 7 Jan 2008 in Columbia, Tn. (Maury Co. native; son James Monroe Attkisson and Nancy Chatman Attkisson; hus. of Norean Haywood Attkisson; owned Mac' Service Station.
Mr. Hazel Monroe Attkisson, age 74, a long time resident of Meadow Road in Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Monday, January 7, at Maury Regional Hospital.
Funeral services for Mr. Attkisson will be conducted Thursday at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Rev. Dwight Liles and Rev. Eugene Barrett officiating. Burial will follow in Arlington Cemetery.
The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 5:00 � 9:00 P.M.at the funeral home.
The Maury County native was the son of the late James Monroe Attkisson and Nancy Jane Chatman Attkisson. He was the husband of Norean Haywood Attkisson of Mt. Pleasant. Mr. Attkisson was retired as owner and operator of Mac's Service Station in Mt. Pleasant since 1953 until June, 2006, when he passed ownership to his grandson, John Michael Irwin, Jr. He was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Cumberland Presbyterian Church. 
Survivors in addition to his wife include one daughter: Nancy (Mike) Irwin of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren: John Michael Irwin, Jr. and Heather Marie Irwin both of Mt. Pleasant; one sister: Dot Thomason of Mt. Pleasant; one brother: Eldon Attkisson of Columbia; special niece and nephew: Tammie (Steve) Cross of Columbia and Samuel Haywood of Mt. Pleasant and a special friend of the family, Ashley Waldrum of Columbia.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: sisters: Hassie Clawson, Esterlene Benderman, Mary Poe, Minnie Pierce, Lucy Sharpe, Susie Robinson and brothers: Eslick Attkisson, Joe Morris Attkisson, Jim Attkisson and Edward Attkisson.
Pallbearers will be Shane Blocker, Shawn Blocker, Steve Cross, Mike Yearby, Sam Haywood, Curtis Haywood, Nick Utter and Ray McCain. Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Cothran, Odell Haywood, Sammy Boshers, Horace Boshers, Earl Hayes, Charlie Hampton, James Ferguson, Ernest Irwin III, Johnny Kirk, Kenny Cummins, Van Irwin, Anthony Irwin, Claude Brawner, Billy Bolton, Jim Parsons, Herbert Manning, Gene Barker, Kenny Mattox, Stanley Mahon, George Gilliam, Stevie McCain, Charles Dale, employees of Barber Oil Company and Buzz's Body Shop and his doctors: Dr. Robert Bain, Dr. Kelly Williams and Dr. J. Cummins Couch III.
