Mr. Melvin
Chapman, 54, resident of Chatman Road in Mt. Pleasant, died Wednesday, April 03,
2002, in Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services for Mr. Chapman will be
conducted Friday at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Williams Mt. Pleasant Funeral
Home with Dalton Cole and Billy Felker officiating. Burial will follow in the
Spencer Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 � 9:00 p.m.
Thursday at the funeral home. He was a native of Giles Co., the son of Bertha
Allen Chapman of Mt. Pleasant and the late Looney Chapman. He was the husband of
Helen Moore Chapman of Mt. Pleasant. He was a farm supervisor for Clifton Place
Farms and attended the Mt. Zion Church of Christ. Survivors in addition to his
wife and mother include two daughters, Mrs. David (Donna) Howell and Misty
Chapman, both of Mt. Pleasant; one son, Jeff (Crystal) Chapman of Mt. Pleasant;
four brothers, Marvin Chapman, Hazel Chapman and Carl Chapman, all of Summertown
and Forace Chapman of Columbia; one sister, Minnie Nelson of Pulaski; one
grandson, Jacob Chapman of Pulaski.; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded
in death by five brothers, Elwood, Johnny, Horace, Alton and Virgil Chapman.
Pallbearers will be David Chapman, Vance Chapman, Jeff Scott, Gary McKissack,
Mike Chapman and Gary Chapman. Honorary pallbearers will be all employees of
Clifton Place Farms and JRN, Inc., "A Team."
