Mrs. Bertha Allen
Chapman, 95, resident of the Watts Hill Community, died Friday, June 14, 2002,
in Heritage Manor. Funeral services for Mrs. Chapman will be conducted Sunday at
2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Williams Mt. Pleasant Funeral Home with Dalton Cole
and Billy Dean Felker officiating. Burial will follow in the Spencer Hill
Cemetery. She was a native of Marshall County, the daughter of the late Emmitt
and Vicki Bell Hall. She was the widow of Looney Chapman who died in 1976. She
was a homemaker and was a member of the Mt. Zion Church of Christ. Survivors
include one daughter, Minnie Nelson of Ethridge; four sons, Marvin (Maxine)
Chapman, Hazel (Jean) Chapman and Carl (Brenda) Chapman, all of Summertown, and
Forace (Toni Gale) Chapman of Columbia. 25 grandchildren, several
great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by
6 children, Elwood Chapman, Alton Eugene Chapman, Virgil Chapman, Horace
Chapman, John Harlan Chapman, and Melvin Wayne Chapman. Pallbearers will be Doug
Chapman, Mike Chapman, David Chapman, Vance Chapman, Allen Chapman and Keith
Chapman. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeff Chapman and Garry Chapman.
