Miss Rebecca Stanford died Sunday night at the residence of
her sister, Mrs. Jack Porter, in Nashville, after an illness of two weeks. The
remains were brought to Columbia Monday afternoon, arriving at 4:30 and carried
immediately to Rose Hill cemetery, where prayer was said by Rev. W. T. Ussery.
Interment in the family square. Miss Stanford was a member of the Baptist church
and a host of friends and relatives to mourn her sad death. The following served
as pall-bearers: John Harbison, Will, Jack, A.C. and Jeff Porter. Carriages from
Maury Undertaking Co., in charge.
