LITTLE GIRL IS DEATH'S VICTIM.
Martha Hayes Murphy, aged six years, died at 4 o'clock Sunday
afternoon at the King's Daughters hospital, where she was carried in an effort
to save her life. The little girl was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence H.
Murphy and was an unusually bright and attractive child, the favorite of all who
knew her. Her bereaved parents have the sympathy of the entire community.
Besides her parents she is survived by a little sister, Catherine Murphy. The
funeral was conducted at four o'clock this afternoon at the South Columbia
Christian church by Elder F. C. Sowell. Interment was in Rose Hill Cemetery. The
following little girls served as pall bearers. Viola Flowers, Elizabeth Watson,
Mabel Amick and Lucile Walker. The following were flower girls, Angeline Watson,
Dorothy Patton, Sarah Coslin, Ruth Jones, Mable Whitney and Lula Lamar. The
Maury Undertaking Company in charge of funeral arrangements.
