Charlotte Irwin (Wiley) Attkisson,
78, longtime resident of Columbia, died Thursday, September 24, 2015 at NHC
Hillview.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols
Funeral Home with Joe Macer and Rev. Steve Swango officiating. Burial will
follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Friday from
4:00 � 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at

The Maury County native was the daughter of the late William Leslie Wiley and
Iva Mae McCollum Wiley Woodard. On August 27, 1959 she married the love of her
life Elbert Eslick Attkisson who preceded her in death October 1, 2001. She was
a 1955 graduate of Columbia Central High School. Mrs. Attkisson was a volunteer
with the Maury Regional Medical Center Auxiliary in the CCU/ICU waiting room.
She was very active in her daughter's life and activities, including work with
the PTA and serving as Band Mother. She was a member of South Gate Church of
Christ.
Survivors include her daughter, Connie (Salvatore) Inghilleri of Columbia;
brother, Jerry Wiley (Edna Waters) of Columbia; granddaughter, Andrea Marie
Inghilleri of Cicero, New York; nephew, William Robert (Angie) Wiley of Lebanon;
sister-in-law, Dorothy Jean Thomason of Mt. Pleasant; numerous other nieces,
nephews and members of the Attkisson family; grandcat, Buster; and granddog,
Lizzie.
The family wishes to express a special thank you to Amy Scott and Patti
Hollinsworth for their care during Charlotte's illness.
She was preceded in death by a brother, William Ted Wiley, and sister-in-law,
Mary Omie King Wiley.
Active pallbearers will be Stan Rogers, William Robert Wiley, John Michael
Irwin, Jhase Scott, Bobby Eugene Wales, Mark Gilliam, Jay Harmon, and Tony
Busby. Honorary pallbearers will include Beverly Wesley, Minnie Morrow, Linda
Rochelle, Linda Mabry, Maury Regional Medical Center Auxiliary, and staff at NHC
Hillview.
