Mrs. Mamie
Alexander Adams, 76, of South High Street, died Monday in Maury County Hospital.
Services are Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. in Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with the
Rev. Ezell Rose and Murray Alexander officiating. Burial is in Rose Hill
Cemetery. The Maury County native was the widow of Elmore Adams Sr. She was a
member of the Baptist Church and was the daughter of the late James and Margaret
Davis Alexander. Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. William (Margaret)
Wells, Mrs. Carl (Dorothy) Coffman, Mrs. Patricia Roland, Mrs. Linda Rose, all
of Columbia, and Mrs. Daniel (Mary) Monroe of Logansport, Ind.; three sons,
Elmore Adams Jr. of Columbia, James Adams of Thompson Station and Ray Adams of
Williamsport; three sisters, Mrs. Floyd (Christine) Chapman, Mrs. Lester
(Gladys) Brown and Mrs. Bob (Aline) Dugger. all of Mt. Pleasant; three brothers,
Edward Alexander of Chattanooga, Herbert Alexander and Paul Alexander, both of
Nashville; 32 grandchildren; and 26 great- grandchildren. Grandsons will serve
as pallbearers."

Alexander and Margaret Bell Davis Alexander. (Note: according to Rick Gray: Mary
Bob, she died in Mar 1986. It is one of the many mistakes that Fred Hawkins made
in his book. If you will look at the obit someone posted, she was 76 when she
