STACY, Hugh Glenn, 8 Sep 1926 - 31 Aug 2009. (Born in Culleoka, Tn.; son of Claude A. and Eva Scott Stacy; Veteran U.S. Army, stationed in Taiwan during the Korean War; member of Herbert Griffin American Legion Post #19; mar. 62 years to Carolyn Edwards Stacy; preceded in death by sister, Margaret Stacy Wells.)

Hugh Glenn Stacy, 82, retired from the U. S. Postal Service with 30 years service and resident of Pleasant Drive, died Monday, August 31, 2009 at Maury Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services conducted at Oakes & Nichols with Charlie Norman and Andrew Roberts officiating. Entombment in Polk Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
Born and reared in the Culleoka Community, he was the son of the late Claude A. and Eva Scott Stacy.
He was a graduate of Culleoka High School and attended Columbia Business College. He served in the U. S. Army for two years, stationed in Taiwan during the Korean War and was a member of Herbert Griffin American Legion Post #19.
Mr. Stacy was a member of Jackson Heights Church of Christ and pursued carpentry and loved framing houses and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Carolyn Edwards Stacy; son, Wayne (Trina) Stacy of Columbia; daughters, Dianne (Tim) Scott of Fayetteville and Lydia (Damian) Montoya of Murfreesboro; grandchildren, Lindsay Stacy of Murfreesboro, Megan (Rick) Chatman of Mt. Pleasant, Lance Stacy of Columbia, Loryn (Jason) Sammons of Murfreesboro, Peter Hillis of Fayetteville, Katherine Hillis of Fayetteville, Emily Montoya Murfreesboro, Olivia Montoya of Murfreesboro, Meagan Mitchell of Murfreesboro, Morgan Mitchell of Columbia, McKinzie Mitchell of Columbia, Evan Scott of Fayetteville and Briana Pigg of Fayetteville; great-grandchildren, Kirstin Chatman of Mt. Pleasant, Caden Chatman of Mt. Plesasant, Ava Hinson of Murfreesboro, Journey Mitchell of Columbia, Clayton Mitchell of Murfreesboro, Danny Hillis of Fayetteville; sister, Joan Stacy Wells of Fayetteville.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Stacy Wells of Fayetteville.
Active pallbearers are Jackie Gibbs, Anthony Davis, Ray Holcomb, Hal Holcomb, Peter Hillis, Randy Stanfill, Michael Ray King, Lance Stacy, Ricky Stanfill, and Gene Davidson.
