TYLER, James Russell, 1917 - 8 Dec 2005
James Russell Tyler, son of Laura Ellen Austin Tyler and
James Amos Tyler died Dec 5, 2005 at Maury Regional Hospital, age 88. He was a
Culleoka native and married Inez Tidwell on Sept 21, 1939, who preceded him in
death July 8, 2001. He served in the US Army during WW II. He was employed by
TVA and later Monsanto and spent the last 25 years of his career as owner and
operator of Tyler Welding Shop. He was a member of the First Baptist Church
where he served faithfully as a greeter and usher for many years. James was
interred with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American
Legion Post 19. He is survived by one daughter, Donna Faye Tyler (Jerry
Wayne) Erwin of Columbia, one son, Jerry Wayne (Alanna Michelle) Tyler of
Columbia, one sister Gladys Belew of Col. Four grandchildren, Brenda Erwin
(Monty) Bland of Col, Gwen Erwin (Dodd) Church of Spring Hill, Tracey Tyler
House of Col, Kristen Michelle Tyler of M'boro, six great-grandchildren, Chance
Bland, Chase Bland, Caleb Church, Ryan Shaw, Zachery Shaw, Savannah House, two
nieces and three nephews. He and his wife, Inez, used to come to the Turner
reunion every year. They were very likeable people.
