Jonathan
Hunt Dugger, Sr., aged 66, retired merchant and life-long resident of
Stiversville, died at his home this morning at 8:45 o'clock. The son of
the late Josiah A. Dugger and Harriet H. Blankenship Dugger, he was born and
reared in the Stiversville community and was a member of the Church of Christ at
that place. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Kate Dugger, three sons, Leon
Dugger, of Dallas, Texas; Marshall Dugger, of Tuscumbia, Ala., and J. H. Dugger,
Jr., of Stiversville, and two daughters, Mrs. Ethel Hardison, of Mt. Pleasant,
and Mrs. Harriet Evans, of Lynnville. Funeral services were
held at the Stiversville Church of Christ 24 Sep in the afternoon conducted by
Elder James Harris, of Lawrenceburg. Pallbearers were be S. E. Dugger,
Marcus Dugger, Paul Dugger, Bailey Scott, Frank Seagraves, Wade Richardson, W.
A. Dugger, Evan Richardson, Milton Foster and Will Douglas. Burial was be
in the new Raimey cemetery at Stiversville. Oakes & Nichols were in
charge of
arrangements.

Mrs. John Hunt
Dugger, Sr., died suddenly this morning at 4 o'clock at her home near
Stiversville. Funeral arrangements have not been completed pending the
arrival of relatives, but the services will be conducted at the Stiversville
Church of Christ by Elder J.T. Harris, of Lawrenceburg, and Elder S. P. Lowery,
of Nashville. Burial will be in New Ramey Cemetery. Mrs. Dugger was
the daughter of the late W. R. and Frances Matthews McKissick, and was born,
reared and educated in Maury County. She was a member of the Stiversville
Home Demonstration Club and took part in other community activities. She
is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Amos Evans, of Lynnville, and Mrs. Edward
Hardison of Mt. Pleasant; three sons, John Hunt Dugger, Jr., of Maury County,
Marshall Dugger, of Tuscumbia, Ala., and Leon Dugger, of San Antonio, Texas; two
brothers, J. C. McKissick, of Cordell, Okla., and Elder J. T. McKissick of
Abilene, Texas; and six grandchildren, one grandson in the Navy, Allen W.
Hardison, now in the Pacific. Williams Funeral Home is in charge.
Pallbearers will be John C., Charles and Seth McKissick, F. T. and W. L.
Seagraves, Evan and James Richardson and Hugh Douglas. Columbia
