McKISSICK CEMETERY, SOUTHPORT ROAD, MAURY COUNTY TENNESSEE


McKISSICK, D. F., (5 Jun) 1880 - (19 Apr) 1922. (stone leaning against Cedar tree.) (In 1922 he was Deputy Sheriff of Maury County. Floyd Mckissick was shot in the street in Mt. Pleasant and died three weeks later.)
David Floyd McKissick, born June 5, 1880, son of David V. and Eliza A. (Williams) McKissick. The former deputy sheriff, died April 19, 1922 at the Home for Incurables, Memphis, Shelby, Tennessee, from paralysis resulting from a gunshot wound to the spine by an unknown assailant. The shooting incident took place on Broadway in Mt. Pleasant, just opposite the flour mill and near the railroad station at midnight Sunday, June 12, 1921.
