DOUGLAS, Charles W., 1898 - Dec 1931. (Husb. of Mrs. Mary Lee Atkisson.)Charlie W. Douglas, age 33 years, member of a prominent Enterprise family, died Sunday morning at 4 o'clock at the King's Daughters hospital in Columbia. His health had been failing for some time but was seriously ill only two weeks. Mr. Douglas was the son of Mr. George C. Douglas, his mother having preceded him to the grave several years ago. He was a teacher in the schools of West Tennessee until his health began to fail. Mr. Douglas was a member of the Church of Christ at Enterprise and a 32 Degree Mason. Surviving him is his wife, Mrs. Mary Lee Atkisson Douglas and three children, Charles Jr., Jean and Dorothy Douglas, his father and four brothers, John Douglas, Enterprise, Hugh Douglas, Campbellsville, Will Douglas, Columbia, and George Douglas of Fayetteville. Two sisters, Miss Ina Douglas of Enterprise and Mrs. Will Green of Southport. Funeral services were conducted Monday morning at 10 o'clock at the home of his father, by Elder Claude Thomas, assisted by S. H. Parks. Burial in McKissick cemetery.
