Pleasant native; son of John Thomas and Myrtle Fuller Pruitt; owner of Pruitt Trucking, 1957 grad of Hay Long High School; raced in local stockcars with Robert M. McClain, he was known as "8 Ball"; prededed in death by brother, Tommy Pruitt.)
