in Maury County, Tennessee, the 5th child of Jones Hunter Sims and
Theresa J. �Tressy� Worley. She married James F. �Jim� Akin and they
were blessed with 5 children: Virginia Mae Akin, Lawrence H. Akin, Vera Eugenia
Akin Runions, Thelma Akin York, and Mary Akin Whitlock. She died
19 Oct 1967
and was buried in the
McClain
Cemetery
in Lewis County, Tennessee. She was buried in between her husband, Jim, and her
son Lawrence. Buried at the foot of her grave are her daughters, Virginia Mae
Akin and Mary Akin Whitlock. The Sims family were active members of the Mt. Joy
Cumberland Presbyterian Church and some of Mamie�s children continued as
members there for many years.
