Mrs. Mary Frances Emler, 83, a resident Hwy. 166 in the Hampshire Community, passed away Friday November 11, 2005 at Maury Regional Hospital.

Graveside services for Mrs. Emler was conducted Sunday, November 13, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at Kittrell Cemetery with Reverend Darrell Martin officiating. The family visited with friends Sunday from 12:00 until 1:30 pm at the Williams Funeral Home in Columbia.

Born in Hickman County, she was the daughter of the late Everett Franklin and Bessie Jane Dunn Martin and the wife of the late Harlan Clifford Emler. She was a homemaker and farmer in the Hampshire Community. She was a participant in the Columbia Care and Rehab Olympics, loved playing bingo and enjoyed gardening.

She is survived by two daughters, Nellie May Emler of Nashville and Betty Lou Cates of Columbia; a sister, Willa Mae Dunn of Berrien Springs, MI; two grandchildren, Tracy Williams of Mt. Pleasant and Elbert Clifford (Penny) Cates of Columbia; seven great grandchildren, Jacob Cates, B.J. Cates and Cheryl Cates, all of Columbia, Dillon Bright of Selmer, TN, Haley Robins of Double Springs, AL, Justin Himes, Cody Counts and Samantha Williams, all of Mt. Pleasant; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Annie Lucille Pruitt, Agnes Davidson and Pearlie Stout; two brothers, James Everett Martin and Jessie Eugene Martin.

Pallbearers were Jeremy Westmoreland, Jason Westmoreland, Jonathan Westmoreland, Josh Westmoreland, Phillip Potts, Tony Potts and James Potts. Honorary pallbearers were Alberta Booker, Dr. Gibran Naddy and the staff of Columbia Care and Rehabilitation Center.
