have been a formal headstone that shaled into this state.

Above
were some of the more prominent fieldstones marking graves. There are many
others that may be marking graves. It is appropriate to know that carved
tombstones did not make their way into use here much prior to 1820. and then
only sparsely for a time. So we have many old pioneers that are interred in
places we are not aware of. I know many of my ancestors graves began
disappearing about 1850 and others from prior generations have stones back in
North Carolina, VA or KY states where their ancestors lived.
