Jones, James Willis
He was the son of Willis & Elizabeth Jones, who are also interred in this cemetery. James was born in Maury Co., Tn. on 28 Jan 1828. On 26 Nov 1847 he married Miss Amanda M. America Dodson. James & Amanda were the parents of one son: Willis Edmund Jones. Mrs. Amanda Jones died on 14 Jun 1852. On 7 Aug 1853 he was wed to Miss Rebecca A. Satterfield. To James & Rebecca were born three children: Sarah E., John Addison and James P. Mr. Jones served in the Confederate Army and was awarded the Confederate Cross of Honor for his loyalty. Rebecca died on 25 Dec 1966 and on 6 Mar 1867 Mr. James Jones married Sarah Ann Woody and three children were born to them: Samuel Madison; Annie Bell (Church); and William Bruce. Sarah died 12 Jan 1915 and James Willis Jones died on 5 Mar 1904 and is buried between his three wives in this cemetery under a magnificent family monument.

This cemetery was compiled by Wayne Austin from a visit there 8 Apr 2009. Other sources for the writings was from Maury County Tennessee Cemeteries, by Fred Lee Hawkins, Jr. page 243. Mr. Fred visited this cemetery 6 Feb 1987.  This cemetery also presented in the book They Passed This Way about 1967 Page B-44 by Evelyn Shackleford & Marise Lightfoot, two ladies of the 1960 era who researched cemeteries and gave us much great works some carried over in this work.
