HOPEWELL
ASSOCIATE REFORMED PRESBYTERIAN (ARP) CHURCH & CEMETERY-MAURY COUNTY TENNESSEE
Use your scroll bars
to view the whole cemetery.
This is the view 20
paces to the south (our left) from the last photo and shows stones that are
south of the previous photo. On our left one can see the two tiered stone of
Thomas Edward & Marjorie Emerson. Just to the left is the stone of James
Michael Emerson. There has not been a burial of an Emerson family member since
1978. All these people interred here rallied around the preservation of the
heritage of this church and continue toward that honor today. There is a
gorgeous old Magnolia tree which to me symbolizes the preservation of one's
heritage. It stands right above the Matthews family memorials. The Matthews were pre-eminent in their
influence in this church.
