M. A. Parrish was born, May, 1840 and took up arms for the Confederate cause,
was taken prisoner at Ft. Donelson, and died before being exchanged. His wife
Mrs. Margaret Allen Parrish was born near Pulaski,
daughter of John H. Allen, who was born in N. C., 1811, and died in 1878. Her
mother, Anna Freeland Allen, born, 1817, died in 1885; in 1836 she married Mr.
John H. Allen, who had come from North Carolina to Maury County four years prior
or during 1832. Mrs.
Parrish resides with J. D. Frierson at Ridley."
