FLIPPEN, Eliza Cushman, wife of Joseph Flippen, No Date Listed (no stone found 12 Mar 2013)

The above listed Eliza "Cushman" Flippen, wife of Joseph Flippen (18 Aug 1806-24 Aug 1859) is actually Eliza "Cashion" Flippen, daughter of Samuel Cashion Sr. and wife, Elizabeth Wilkinson Cashion from Chesterfield Co., Virginia.

The Cashions (13 children) moved with Elizabeth Wilkinson Cashion's brother, Thomas Wilkinson, to Tennessee and they settled with their large families in Lincoln and Giles Counties, Tennessee.

Eliza Cashion Flippen is buried at the Old City Cemetery in Pulaski, TN (between 1st and 2nd streets, south side). The alpha listing and grid number show that her grave is number 104 at 8-F.

The children of Joseph Flippen (1806-1859) and Eliza Cashion Fippen (1811-1851) are: Mary (1842-, m. William Vaughn); Tabitha Elizabeth (1844-); Joseph Jr. (1845-, m. Nancy Stillwell) Emma (1847-, m. Asa Morton); William (1848-); Celestia A. (m. Andrew McLain), and Mosella (1849-, m. Tomerlin).

Joseph Flippen's 2nd wife was Olive Peden and their children were Olive V., Pedenella/Petronella and Magnetta.
