Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday at the Stella Presbyterian Church, with burial in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. The Rev. M. F. Norwood and Rev. Tony Curtis officiated. Mrs. Jones was born December 8, 1883, the daughter of the late William McRee and Margaret Gatlin McRee. She was a native of Giles County. Her husband, the late Andrew Jones, died several years ago. She is survived by six sons, Thurman and Waters, of Prospect, Malone, Jack, and Morris, of Goodsprings, Riley, of Minor Hill; three daughters, Mrs. Noble Legg, Lawrenceburg, Mrs. Harold Edmundson, Nashville, and Mrs. Lon Rathburn, Kalmazoo, Mich.; twenty-one grandchildren, and nineteen great-grand-children; two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Bass, Minor Hill, Mrs. J. Note:  In one of the Giles County Historical Society Bulletins a few years ago there was an article about the meaning of the symbol on a number of women�s tombstones in this cemetery whose husbands were Masons.  I can�t locate that article at the moment but it comes from the King James Version of St John 12:15 �Fear not, daughter of Sion behold thy King cometh�  I was interested in this since both Mary Frances Hanna Kerr and Emma Perpetua Smith Reagin had this symbol on their stones.  But on close examination one of these is carved on the stone in the reverse direction.  Lucy Shores Hanna, among others, also has this symbol on her stone. {Marilyn Kerr Hare, 5 Feb 2010}
