	Obituary:
	Mr. Milus Milton Phillips, 72, of Columbia, died Monday, Sept. 2, 1991, at 
	his residence following several months of illness. Funeral services will be 
	conducted
	at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4, at Oakes and Nichols Funeral Home with the 
	Rev. James Sewell and the Rev. Richard Roe officiating. The Lawrence County 
	native
	was the son of the late Spencer D. and Lizzie Jones Phillips. He was a 
	member of the Craft Memorial United Methodist Church where he had formerly 
	served as
	chairman of the Official Board. Serving in the United States Navy, he was a 
	veteran of World War II. Mr. Phillips retired in 1975 from the Cookeville 
	Post
	Office and prior to that he was a railway mail clerk. He was also a member 
	of the Chairman�s Club at First Farmers and Merchants Bank. Survivors 
	include his wife,
	Mrs. Katherine Morris Phillips of Columbia; one son, William Larry Phillips 
	of Arlington, Texas; one daughter, Mrs. Joe {Patsy} Hedrick of Columbia; two
	sisters, Mrs. Nina Lucille Cole of Charlotte, N. C., Mrs. Corine Keeter of 
	Lawrenceburg; one brother, Jimmy Phillips of North Carolina and three grand-
	children.
