Obituary:
Mrs. Elsie Mae Johns, 81, of Goodspring, died Friday, Oct. 20, 1989, at
Pulaski Health Care Center. Funeral services were held Sunday, Oct. 22, at
Carr and
Erwin Chapel with Bernard Konig officiating. Burial was in Shores Cemetery.
A native of Tennessee, Mrs. Johns was the daughter of the late Charlie and
Lizzie Childress Smith and was preceded in death by one son, Junior Johns.
She was
a member of Shores Church of Christ. Survivors include three sons, James A.,
Donald and Tommie Johns, all of Pulaski; seven daughters, Brenda Johns and
Opal Garner, both of Pulaski, Carolyn Hawkins, Sybil Powell, Glenda Davidson
and Joyce Klotwog, all of Nashville, Esther Cook of Knoxville; four
brothers,
Cecil Smith of Oklahoma, Archie, Gifford and Solomon Smith, all of Pulaski;
four sisters, Jane Hunt and Polly Thompson, both of Oklahoma, Kathlene
Shelton
and Sarah Kerchiegh, both of Oregon; 20 grandchildren and five
great-grandchildren.
