Her Biography

Zurilda Brunette Buckner was born 2 Jan 1831 in Mount Pleasant, Maury County, Tennessee, to prominent Mt. Pleasant merchant Anthony H. Buckner and his wife, the former Isabella Stuart Mitchell. On 4 Jun 1857 in Maury County, Tennessee, she united in marriage with John Morgan Bright, a widower with seven children, 4 boys and 3 girls. Together they were blessed with four additional children: A. Buckner Bright, Matthew Morgan Bright, Samuel Alston Bright, and David Mitchell Bright, all four boys born in Fayetteville, Lincoln County, Tennessee. Zurilda died 10 Nov 1877 in Fayetteville, Tennessee of consumption and was laid to rest at First Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Fayetteville, also known as Old Fayetteville City Cemetery.
