COLE, Lee Roy, 8 Dec 1895 - 28 Dec 1917, One of the first casualties of World War One.
Inscription: "First Private of the 1917 War burried under Giles County Soil. Erected as a memorial by his friends and family June 30, 1918. Sleep Soldier Sleep. Thou has done thy duty."
We are in the old section, on the south side, of the old church building.
