Mary Carpenter Hunt, September 7, 1920  - February 22, 2012, died in Florence Alabama, Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital services.

Mrs. Mary Ellen Carpenter Hunt, 91, died February 22, 2012 at Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital in Florence, Alabama following a brief illness.
Services will be conducted Friday, February 24, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Lynnville Church of Christ with Milton Stephens and Artie Collins officiating. The body will
lie in state at the church from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial will be in the Lynnwood Cemetery. Oakes and Nichols Funeral Home is in charge of
arrangements. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

She was the wife of the late Robert Henderson Hunt and the daughter of the late Robert Shirley and Walcie Rowena Barlar Carpenter. She was preceded in death by
her sisters, Anne Clara Hunt and Zana Ruth Carpenter. She was a native of Lynnville, Tennessee. She retired from the Social Security Administration in
Columbia after 25 years of service. Prior to that, she worked for the Farmers Home Administration in Dickson, Tennessee for ten years. She loved to sew and smock
and was well-known for the fancy dresses she made for friends and family. Other hobbies included quilting, needlework, reading, and working in her flower gardens.
She was a member of the Lynnville Church of Christ for more than 40 years.

She is survived by five daughters, Anne (Larry) Collins of Florence, Alabama, Mary Lynn (Bill) Rotenberry of Nashville, Betty (Dan) Thompson of Knoxville, Sharon
(Todd) Howell of Pulaski, and Susan (Joe) Warren of Lynnville; two sons, John Robert Hunt of Columbia, and Charles (Roseanne) Hunt of Lynnville; eight
granddaughters, Jennifer Thompson, Rebecca (Chris) Fretwell, Rachel Rotenberry, Elizabeth (Bo) Jackson, Laura Hunt, Catherine Hunt, Tori Hunt, and McKenna
Hunt; eight grandsons, Jon (Jennifer) Rotenberry, Rob (Lyndi) Thompson, Adam Thompson, Mark Warren. Phil (Whitney) Hunt, Travis Hunt, Taylor Howell. and
Greg Howell; and four great-grandchildren, Jack Thompson, Hannah Kate Thompson, Hannah Hunt, and Noah Hunt.
Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Memorials may be made to the Jim Waldron Mission Fund, c/o Lynnville Church of Christ, PO Box 112, Lynnville, TN

A special heartfelt thanks is extended to Dr. Ricky Irons, Dr. Sean Rhuland and the nursing staff in the Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital ICU, especially Teresa South,
Kim Fuller and Bridget Berry. Their caring and compassion went far beyond what the job requires and are deeply appreciated. Also, a special thanks is extended to Dr.
Robert Webb and Cathy Shelton, medical director and coordinator of the ECM Palliative Care Service where Mrs. Hunt's last hours were spent.
