GRAVES, (James) Virgil, 17 Jun 1924 - 17 Oct 2009. (s/o William Edgar and Eva Lee Long Graves; 2nd wife, Clara Graves; retired truck driver for Giles Co. Hwy. Dept; preceded in death by 1st wife Susan Portress Graves.)


Mr. James Virgil Graves, age 85 of Pulaski, passed away Saturday October 17, 2009 at Hillside Hospital.

Mr. Graves was the son of the late William Edgar and Eva Lee Long Graves. He was a retired truck driver for the Giles County Highway Department and preceded in death by his first wife Susan Portress Graves.

Funeral at Carr & Erwin Chapel with interment in Lynnwood Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife Clara Graves of Pulaski, four sons Eddie Graves, Mack Graves both of Odd Fellows Hall, Joe Gilbert of Pulaski, David Gilbert of Lewisburg, three daughters Rebecca Graves of Pulaski, Ann Lewonczyk of the Milkyway Community, Carolyn Holbert of the Little Dry Community, two brothers Calvin Graves of Odd Fellows Hall, Bud Grave of Pulaski, three sisters Betty McGee, Edde Medley, Dorothy Jean Medley all of Pulaski, thirteen grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren.
