CHAFFIN, Sally E. McKissick, 4 Mar 1914 - 3 Jun 2001. (Dau. of William Franklin
McKissick and Bertha Lou Prentice McKissick; mar. to Woodrow Wilson Chaffin.)
Wilson and Sally Chaffin lived west one mile of Stiversville on the north at the
junction where Wiley HollowToll Dugger Roads turn right.
Sally was tall and slender a characteristic of the McKissack's of Southport.)

Woodrow Wilson Chaffin, 73, of the Stiversville
Community died Monday in Maury County Hospital. Services are Wednesday at 10:30
a.m. in Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Brown Foster officiating. Burial
is in Lynnwood Cemetery in Lynnville. The Giles County native was a retired
farmer. He was the son of the late Mack and Nellie Coffey Chaffin. Survivors
include his wife, Mrs. Sally McKissick Chaffin of Stiversville Community; two
daughters, Mrs. Raymond (Joanne) Pigg of Stiversville Community and Mrs. Layne
(Peggy) Thrasher of Columbia; a son Bobby Chaffin of Stiversville Community;
five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Pallbearers are Kenneth Ray
Pigg, David Lee Pigg, Daryl Thrasher, LeRoy Thurman, John Murry, Floyd Pigg, Joe
Hickman and John Thomason.

Mrs. Sally McKissick Chaffin, 87, widow of Woodrow Wilson Chaffin and longtime
resident of the Stiversville Community died Sunday, June 3, 2001, at NHC
Hillview. Services will be conducted at 1 p.m., Tuesday at Oakes & Nichols
Funeral Home with Brother Ricky Clay officiating. Burial will be in the Lynnwood
Cemetery. The family will visit with friends from 4-8 p.m., Monday at the
funeral home. The Giles County native was the daughter of the late William
Franklin McKissick and Bertha Lula Prentice McKissick and was a member of the
Church of Christ. Survivors include two daughters, Joanne (Raymond) Pigg of
Stiversville and Peggy (Lane) Thrasher of Columbia; a son, Bobby Chaffin of
Stiversville; a brother, Paul McKissick of Pulaski; five grandchidren, Daryl
Thrasher, Dianne Williams, Kenny Pigg, David Pigg and Regina Pigg; eight
great-grandchildren, Cori Beth Williams, Courtney Thrasher, Chase Thrasher,
Chaffin Thrasher, Jason Pigg, Justin Pigg, Austin Strong and Makayla Strong. She
was preceded in death by a daughter, Dorothy Fay Chaffin; and a
great-grandchild, Colton Wyatt Williams. Active pallbearers are Daryl Thrasher,
David Pigg, Kenny Pigg, Leonard Williams, Chris Sellers and Paul Blocker.
Honorary pallbearers include Dr. Ben Gardner and the staffs of Hospice of
Highland Rim, Maury Regional Home Health and NHC Hillview.
