John Littleton Stewart was the son of William Pemberton Stewart, Sr. and Martha Green. He was born August 1, 1849 in Giles, Tennessee and died August 28, 1920 in Maury, Tennessee. He was married to Elizabeth A. Bailey on July 1, 1866 in Lawrence County, Tennessee. Bond was issued in Lawrence, Tennessee on July 1, 1866 by W. F. Bumpass, BM and they were married by W. C. Davis, JP. Their children were:
