Wrought iron fence with unmarked grave(s) inside. 6984

Between this graveyard and the road, where a modern house sits today is enough space for a church building. Since Catherine Nance stated she was a member of the Christian Church likely it was a Christian Church at least for a time. Old Lynnville aka Waco is only 2 miles away to the north of here. Maybe between here and there was an old Christian Church. I do believe the Higdons' buried across the road in the Tacker Cemetery were members of the Christian Church. More recently Louisa R. Wolf d. 1907 was a Presbyterian. I am wondering if this area was a part of the extended Old Lynnville which began a decline with the rails going a bit east of here in the 1860s. Old Lynnville resurged some when Highway 31 was converted into a major north/south inter-state highway in the 1930s and declined again with the building of the Interstate (I-65) highway system, built in the 1950s, under the Dwight D. Eisenhower Administration.

Where there were differences we stayed with our recent transcription of the tombstone. Findagrave.com currently has 80 listings.
