HOLT, Butler Walter. The Pulaski Citizen 13 Dec 1961. Funeral services for Butler Walter Holt, 78, retired Louisville and Nashville Railroad employee, were held at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at East Hill Church of Christ, conducted by Gilbert E. Shaffer, minister of the church. Burial took place in the family lot at Cool Spring Cemetery. Mr. Holt died at 9 o'clock on Monday morning, December 11, at Giles County Hospital, following a six weeks illness. Born February 10, 1881, in Giles County, he was the son of the late Richard W. Holt and Sallie Fogg Holt. For many years he was employed by the L&N at Paris, Tenn., retiring approximately ten years ago when he returned to Giles County, building a home in the Cedar Grove Community. His wife, Mrs. Mable Orlean McMasters Holt, died in June of 1959. He was a member of the Church of Christ. Mr. Holt is survived by two brothers, B. E. Holt, Pulaski and Edgar Holt, Lawrenceburg; and one sister, Mrs. Buford L. Erwin, Lawrenceburg. Bennett-May Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
