BRICK CHURCH CEMETERY, GILES COUNTY TENNESSEE

The John Gordon memorials inside the fence on our right. His Wife Mary Ann Gordon is on our left. Notice there is also a stone just outside the fence. It is unknown as to who may be interred under that memorial without any inscription if anyone. If it was a headstone the grave in not placed traditionally from the west with the foot pointing eastward.

GORDON, Maj. John, 8 August 1798 - 30 September 1890. Inscription: "SACRED -- to the Memory of -- Maj, JohN GORDON -- Born -- August 8, 1798 -- Died -- Sept 30 1890. -- Aged 92 Years 1 month -- & 22 Days."

GORDON, Mrs. Mary Ann, wife of Maj. John Gordon, 10 Oct 1801 - 25 Apr 1871. Mother.
 Inscription: "SACRED -- to the Memory of -- Mrs. Mary Ann GORDON -- Born -- Oct 10 1801 -- Died -- April 25, 1871. --- Blessed are the dead -- who die in the Lord. --- Dearest Mother thou has left us . . . . . ."
