BOWERS-PHILLIPS CEMETERY, GILES COUNTY TENNESSEE

In 1825 Elizabeth Phillips' daughter Eleanor was shot and killed by her husband William Joachim D. Lindsay, when she was only 18 years old. Warrants were issued for his arrest, but he escaped to New Orleans and then sailed to England where he remained. According to one news account Lindsay had an uncle in Liverpool England.
