** (Thomas H Maxey married Narcissa Yarbrough in 1852. They had Cornelia V Yarbrough Maxey, b. 9 Oct 1853. Narcissa died ca 1854, because Thomas H. was found married again to Louisa Emily Clifton by the 1860 census. Thomas H. Maxey then goes off to the Civil War to fight for the Confederacy and dies 26 Mar 1862 at Mound City Illinois as a Prisoner of War in a hospital (diagnosis Erysipelas), then Louisa Emily Clifton Maxey marries 2ndly to John Chaffin. [See Yarbrough Cemetery for more information])

This cemetery is so named after the surname of the Black family that at one time owned the adjacent farm. I am unaware if any of them are buried here. Certainly no tombstone exist here with that surname. Was this land connected to William J. Black b. 1823 who is interred in the nearby Mimosa Cemetery in Lawrenceburg.

Partially photographed on 2 Jun 2013. Added here 24 May 2013. This is as complete listing as I could find given the original listing was done by Carrie H. Gresham 17 Mar 1966 for the book Lawrence County Cemeteries. See findagrave.com for some of the above updates.
