Velma Modena Thornton Beddingfield Eaves was married 2x. Her 1st husband was Tommy Beddingfield (see GCT 1943 obit ) who is also buried in Bee Spring cemetery - see

1st Husband: Tommie D. Beddingfield, 1910 - 1943. [interred near her in the same type granite memorial as hers.]

2nd husband: Ca 1962 Velma Modena married a widower, Ollie Albert Eaves, Sr., 1903 - 1981. [interred in the Bottom Cemetery, Hwy 251,  in Limestone Co Alabama, http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=27022589.]

Tommy D. Beddingfield, boilerman third class, USN, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ollie Eaves of Athens rt. 1, was promoted to his present rate aboard the navy anti-submarine aircraft carrier USS Essex, operating out of Quonset Point, R.I., recently. His promotion was based on his demonstrated ability to perform the duties of his rate and successfully passing the Navy-wide competitive examination.

Funeral for Velma Modena Eaves, 88, of Athens Convalescent Center, will be today at 2 p.m. at Taylor-Ardmore Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Dean Beddingfield, officiating. Burial will follow in Bee Springs Cemetery in Bryson, Tenn.

Mrs. Eaves died Sunday, Oct. 25, at Athens-Limestone Hospital. She was active in RSVP, Council on Aging and Senior Citizens.

She was preceded in death by her son, John Beddingfield. She is survived by three sons, David Beddingfield, Jasper, Mich., Robert Dean Beddingfield, South Lyon, Mich., Tommy Beddingfield, Providence, R.I.; one daughter, Ruth McBay, Athens; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Dale Beddingfield, Barry McBay, Scott Sandy, Johnny Thornton, Stanley Thornton, Tim Powers.
