WAYNE, Dr. Carol Lee DePue,
18 Jul 1954 - 9 Mar 2010. (Washington, D.C. native; d/o Dr. Leland DePue and
Marie Robinson DePue; mar. 15 Jun 1985 to John Wayne II; art teacher a Culleoka
Unit School; Bachelor of Fine Arts from Old Dominion University and Masters in
Education from Nova Southeastern University; preceded in death by son, Joseph

Dr. Carol Lee DePue Wayne, Ed.D, age 55, a resident of Norma Court in Culleoka,
passed away on Tuesday, March 9, at Maury Regional Medical Center.
Biography
Funeral services for Carol were conducted Monday at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of
Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Bro. Derek Hunter, Pastor Roebin Tyler
and Bro. Larry Purvis officiating. Burial followed in the Friendship Cemetery in
Culleoka.
Carol was born July 18, 1954 in Washington, DC, the daughter of the late Dr.
Leland DePue and Marie Robinson DePue. On June 15, 1985 she was married to John
Wayne II who resides in Culleoka. Carol was an art teacher at Culleoka Unit
School for 11 years. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Old Dominion
University and her Masters in Education from Nova Southeastern University and
was completing work on her doctorate with Nova Southeastern University and they
will be awarding her degree posthumously. Carol was an active member of Grace
Church of the Nazarene. In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death
by a son, Joseph Wayne.
Survivors in addition to her husband include her children: Tami Rhodes of Mesa,
AZ, John Wayne III of Casper, WY, Misti McAniff of Ft. Bragg, NC, Rachel Wayne
(fianc� Stephen Weems), Marie Wayne, Stephen Wayne and Brayden Wayne, all of
Culleoka; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one brother: Art DePue of
Tomball, TX and one sister: Cheryl Rees of Mechanicsville, VA.
Pallbearers were Stephen Weems, Stephen Wayne, Brian McKenzie, Larry Purvis,
Byron Perry and Keith Farmer. Honorary pallbearers were the teachers at the
Culleoka Unit School.
