Sally Hays Richardson Barnes, age 75 died quietly Thursday, August 13, 2015 at
her home in Lewisburg after an extended illness.
She was a lifelong resident of Marshall County, Tennessee. She was preceded in
death by her parents, James Harvey and Vadie Tennison Hays, her brother, James
Tennison Hays, her first husband, Gaylon Richardson, son, James B. (Jim)
Richardson and grandson, Gaylon James Richardson.
She is survived by her second husband, Earnest Colie Barnes, one daughter,
Kimberly Richardson (Steve) Thomason both of Lewisburg, and one step-daughter,
Beth (Zach) Mitchell of Murfreesboro, five grandchildren, Angela Summers of
Martin, Tennessee, Gaylon Thomason, Katie Hargrove, and Hays Richardson all of
Lewisburg, and Maliah Vasquez of Mt. Pleasant, four step-grandsons, Caleb,
Christopher, and Connor Mitchell and Benji Barnes all of Murfreesboro, and eight
great grandchildren.
Mrs. Barnes was a 1957 graduate of Marshall County High School and attended
David Lipscomb College. She began her career in banking in 1958 at First
National Bank in Lewisburg and retired in 2002 from Farmers Bank in Lewisburg.
She was a member of East Commerce Baptist Church for greater than fifty years
where she taught children�s Sunday School for many years.
Services will be conducted on Sunday, August 16, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. from London
Funeral Home by Bro. Cliff Vines and Pastor Judy Stevenson with burial in
Friendship Cemetery at Culleoka. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until
8:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday from 12:00 p.m. until the funeral hour.
Serving as pallbearers will be Gaylon Thomason, Jamie Summers, Ricky Farmer,
Keith Farmer, Bud Richardson, and Adam Richardson. Honorary pallbearers are the
East Commerce Baptist Church Amazing Grace Sunday School Class and the Senior
Adult Men�s Sunday School Class.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to East Commerce Baptist Church
Building Fund P.O. Box 1575 Lewisburg, Tennessee 37091.
Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
