Mattie who was born 12 Mar 1860 and died 31 Jul 1933. Mattie was the daughter of John P. Huckaby and Martha M. Williams Huckaby, who were my great great gramdparents on my grandfathers side. Joe Marshall Derryberry was a farmer and lived in the Lasea neighborhood.

This photo of the Joe Derryberry home was taken sometime after it was abandoned in the 1960s

His original home stood on the same side of the road as the Jones Cemetery, near Interstate #65. The house has been torn down now. This couple is buried in the J. L Derryberry Cemetery as are his parents. Joe and Mattie had one son Archie L. Derryberry. Born 26 Mar 1884; died 23 Aug 1937; by his own hand. He married Lillian Otis Lane (or Lain). She was born 15 Jul 1880 and died 19 May 1962; daughter of William and Geneva Frances Davis Lane (daughter of Will Davis and Sallie Evans Jones) who were my great great grandparents on my grandmothers side. Archie is buried in the Charles Hardison Cemetery and Lillian in the Jones Cemetery.
