RAINEY, William Fleming Jr., 10 May 1925 - 18 Dec 2005. CPL US Army Air Forces WWII, (son of William Fleming Rainey, Sr., and Elizabeth Brannon Rainey) 

William Fleming "Bill" Rainey was a Maury Co. native, son of William Fleming Rainey, Sr., and Elizabeth Brannon Rainey; Vetery U.S. Army Air Corp, Pacific Theatre of Operation, Guam, two bronze stars; retired from U.S. Department of Agriculture Soil Conservation Service; mar. 17 Sep 1947 to Dorothy Cecil Rainey; owner of Woodland Pool until 1965; Active in Boy Scouts of America serving as assistant Scout Master of Troop #109; Maury Co. Historical Society; 1974 the Rainey Family made a gift of their farm to the City of Columbia for use as a public park; Instrumental in the restoration of Cross Bridges Methodist Church Cemetery.)
